Natalia García Clark is conceptual, absurd, and abstract, and is based between Mexico City and Los Angeles, CA. Lately she’s been developing a series of films/concerts about flies trapped inside transparent boxes, titled “Internal Conflict.” A microphone records their flutter trying to escape confinement while Natalia waits behind the camera for them to find their way out. The last piece in the series will involve conducting a trio or a small orchestra, each fly inside a different sized box.
Natalia’s secret talent is a musical practice that she’s recently taken up.
The last book she recommended was Maya Deren’s collected writings on film, Essential Deren.
Her favorite U.S. state or territory is Mexico, of course.
