This week’s featured syllabus is How to Learn to Walk by Alex Wolfe.

Alex’s syllabus focuses on slow processes of transformation: one artistic practice being replaced by another, a mode of being in the world turning into something else, or a familiar place becoming a foreign one, over the course of a long, long walk. The entries in his list were keys to his discovering the profundity and expansiveness of walking. Walking may be a simple and ubiquitous act, but in the words of Charles Bowden, “the only voyage of discovery is to go back to where you started.”
