Ellen Freeman is a writer, editor, and collector based in Mexico City. She makes a secondhand fashion magazine called Mildew, which is about looking at old clothes in new ways. They just released Issue 2, which means it’s time to get to work on the next one. (It takes a whole year!)
Ellen’s first memory of the internet is Bonsai kittens—”a friend and I believed the hoax wholeheartedly and started an awareness campaign at school.”
Her best birthday was maybe her latest (35th)—”some friends and I stayed in a serpent-shaped apartment building by Javier Senosiain outside of Mexico City and had a mini-rave in a cave deep inside its belly.”
A supernatural experience: “I wake up and see shadowy figures in my room at night at least once a week. :/”
