Elizabeth Goodspeed

Elizabeth Goodspeed is a designer, collector, and enthusiast based in Providence, RI (and occasionally Brooklyn, NY). She’s been working on a latch-hook rug since 2020, and suspects her progress on it will continue far beyond when latch-hooking goes out of fashion again.

Elizabeth’s flatbed scanner, “is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life.”
A book she’s recommended and lent to friends again and again is An Everlasting Meal by Tamar Adler. The book is a meditation on cooking intuitively (seasonally and without traditional recipes) and economically (with little food waste), but she’s found so many of its lessons transferable to other facets of her life.
Underrated candy: Skybar! This 1938 candy bar (briefly discontinued in 2018) has four chambers each with a different filling: caramel, vanilla, peanut, and fudge. Perfect for the indecisive sweet-tooth, and for some reason only available at gas stations below the Mason–Dixon.
