Cara Marsh Sheffler is a writer, editor, and voluptuary based in Chelsea, NYC. With Johannah Herr (as ¡AGITPOP! Press), “I am working on a new book about the CIA and magic tricks; a set of provocative movie posters (all Westerns) in time for Oscar season; and a Spanish translation of our “Banana Republican Recipe Book.” On my own, I am up to no good. I am also writing essays for the various publications that will have me.”

The last book Cara recommended was Confucius to Cummings. “This volume is an exceptionally eccentric collection of poems Ezra Pound (yes, yes, I’m aware he’s problematic) compiled and Marcella Spann edited. It is also the book that turned me onto Troubadour poetry (outside of Wagner, who I’m also aware is problematic). I’m not selling this well, but it’s a brilliant feat of curation that breaks all algorithms and contains some real gems. At the very least, do yourself a favor and google Pound’s translation of Arnaut Daniel’s ‘l’aura amara.’ “
Cara pretty much grew up in The Sopranos in Bergen County, New Jersey. “Meadow and I even applied to college at the same time, which means I left the proverbial set after Season 3.”
Cara’s response to “fuck, marry, kill”: “I’ve only done one of these but I’m open to the other two (I won’t tell you which).”
